Mail Etiquette

Email etiquette is an important part of Emailing and we learnt about it in IT this week here is what I learnt.

First there was that we are always meant to have a clear subject line so that the receiver of the Email knows what we are Emailing him/her. Second, use a salutation to look professional and kind ,this is quite important. Third, is to remember to keep the Email to the point in order to make sure the reader knows what is going on. Fourth, is to be professional so things like slang or text language is non-professional.Fifth and last,and probably one of the most important, is to sign the Email off politely and to remember to proofread.There is what I learnt during this weak's IT lesson.

My Superhero

 Inferno

Inferno is the name of my villain. His name is Inferno as his power is fire.This is also the reason for his black and red colour scheme.

The Symbol

The symbol of Inferno was not put on the character because the symbol is a fireball it would give away that Inferno's power is fire.

         Power

                           He uses his fire power to inflict mass destruction on random cities.

                       Best Feature

My favourite part of my character would be his deep , scary , low voice.This is easily my favourite thing because it allows him to make an epic entrance.

What would I improve on?

I would of put more effort into my character because I think he he looks to fat on the sides and arms.

Overview

This whole project was extremely fun with a lot laughs in between.Designing the character made me feel like a real design artist.With lots of challenges too.

My Poetry ILT and my Thoughts

First lets start by asking ourselves. What exactly is poetry? Poetry is the expression of feelings in powerful words used normally in a pattern.For example:

When there is colour 

It is so mesmerizing 

possibly surprising 

when colour is around 

everything looses its bound 

This is why colour is special to me 

and makes everyone happy 

Its is impossible to not like poetry as poetry calms the nerve and brings you into this magical world of rhyming and sense of belonging. There were five activities over our five day ILT. The first of which was Terminology we had to define a bunch of words that we were given relating to poetry.The second task was Poetry Writing.For this we each had come up with a poem that we put on a google slide using different types of poems for each slide.The third task , also my favorite task , was black out poetry.Black out poetry is where you would take a passage or paragraph of words and make a picture by blacking out certain words to leave just words that can form a poem.Here's my black out poetry. 

Our fourth task , and probably most fun , was the grand , poetry slam.My group made a 16 line poem and actions to go with our  poem.The last task was our analyzing poem task , here we had to look at different poems and choose one to answer questions to. This project as a whole was awesome to me because there was a ton to learn from this poetry ILT. Everything from new poetic terminology to learning that I actually like poetry.

Precepts can go a long way.

We are reading a book called Wonder at school and in this book Mr. Browne is teaching the children about precepts and now we are learning about precepts . Precepts are words that are meaningful and can motivate you, whatever the precept is.These words can have such an awesome impact,seriously I mean imagine everyone followed a precept that could have an amazing outcome
After this I decided to find a precept which is:

'you never fail until you stop trying’
                             -Albert Einstein

This precept means quite a bit to me as you can't succeed in life without trying and to succeed is my goal in life.I believe that when you follow a precept you have the ability to do anything or whatever  your precept says.This is my thought on precepts.

A day in the life and home of a child in an informal settlement

I just woke up and found that there was a hole in my wall.This is normal for me.I now have to go to school with my sloppy school clothes and a slit jacket.I’m just thinking how frosty my feet will be. I feel like it is snowing. I’m on my way to school with my head held high.I have two friends John and Wick. They call me machine gun although my real name is Micheal. Our desks are really cramped and about five people at one desk and we are all kneeling.I just wish we had some proper desks and chairs.my teacher was particularly grouchy today.I don’t blame her she has to teach sixty children.

Try as I will I get nowhere.I want a job one day in the big city. I just can’t wait till then if it happens.At school we have to read this book with tiny writing with a thick spine.That we have to finish by the end of the week.I think I’m going to spend all day and night this week reading this book I’ll never finish it but i’m going too ,because I want a job.

I get to my shack and I find my whole shack is blown apart.Are my parents Ok

looks like I’m sleeping out in the open tonight.That is a normal day for me.It would be a dream for me to have a job one day

Being Charles, I don’t like to sing ,but it all happened yesterday. When that mean, cruel and plain rude singing inspector told me to. I was in a singing room praying not to go first. Thats when it happened I ended up going first along with Benny.I can’t sing. I don’t even know more than one song and the song I do know is Pretty Poly I thought. Then the awful man started to point at a noise making thing and told us to sing.So I sang.”Pretty Polly pretty poly whats whats o’clock whats o’clock” I sang. Then Benny started to sing it was horrible. So we were sent out.I did’t care because 

I don’t like singing anyway.I didn’t like the man either.Especially when he is trying to make his jacket strait every second, fiddling with his clothes half the time.

News in Grade 5

We had to do research on a soil creature and we had partners. We call this an ILT.ILT stands for Intergrated Learning Task.My partner and I did our ILT on a meerkat,.We had to get pictures and
we had to search for their diet,habitat,appearance and some interesting facts.Then put the research on a poster and decorate it.So we had all our information and the pictures in flaps but we hadn’t  decorated yet so we decided to draw a meerkat face we thought that wasn’t enough for how big the poster was.So the next day I I brought sand to put on the poster that didn’t work and made the poster look really bad. Oh yeah! did I mention it was over three days.Although it was really fun doing the part.

This week we are going to camp. Camp is always fun.I’m really hoping that my tent buddies are
Declan or Nic. I am looking forward to camp very much.We always do lots of activities their.
I heard that there is a river there so that will be fun.
